Cleveland County rejects road oils bids and will rebid six‑month contract

The Cleveland County Board voted March 10 to reject all bids for BID #HWY-2136, the six-month non‑encumbered contract for road oils, emulsions and sealants, and to reissue the solicitation. The action followed staff recommendation that inclement weather had affected the bid process.
"Upon the recommendation of Keri Lyles, Chairman Rod Cleveland moved, seconded by Jacob McHughes, to reject all bids and then go out for rebid due to inclement weather issues that hindered the bid process for BID #HWY-2136," the minutes record. The bid term under consideration is March 7, 2025, through September 6, 2025. The motion carried unanimously.
Purchasing was instructed to reissue the bid and manage tabulation; the minutes state the prior tabulation was accepted and postponed at the March 3 meeting but the Board determined rebidding was necessary.
