Huachuca City accepts clean audit for 2024-25 fiscal year

The Huachuca City Council on April 9 accepted the Town's independent financial audit for fiscal year 2024-25 after a presentation from auditor Jennifer Frank. Frank told the council the audit issued an "unmodified clean opinion" and that the audit reports included no material weaknesses or significant deficiencies.
Frank summarized the town's consolidated financial position, saying total net position was "at 12.3 almost 12.4 million at June 30." She noted positive trends in the general fund cash balance (about $746,000 at June 30, 2025) and described increases in governmental-type capital assets largely tied to the Skyline project. Frank also highlighted enterprise fund results, including a small net income in the water and sewer funds and continued attention needed for landfill liabilities.
Mayor Johann R. Wallace thanked department heads and staff, calling the result "a good audit" and adding, "it's actually an excellent audit," and the council moved to accept the reports. The motion to accept the audit was made by Mayor Wallace, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Christy Hirshberg, and passed unanimously.
