The Nobles County Board of Commissioners voted to keep the 2025 crop damage payment amounts the same as the 2024 rates for drainage authority improvement projects. The motion to maintain the 2025 amounts was moved by Commissioner Justin Ahlers and seconded by Commissioner Bob Paplow; the board approved the action during the Jan. 21 meeting.
County staff told the board the joint drainage authority boards responsible for ongoing improvement projects must set projected crop damage payments for the 2025 construction year. The board’s vote preserves the prior year’s schedule and allows those drainage projects to proceed with the same damage‑payment assumptions used in 2024.
