Daggett County commissioners approved a purchase request Feb. 24 for iTouch Biometrics equipment for the Sheriff’s Office in the amount of $20,735.00. Sheriff Eric Bailey and County Attorney Kent Snider spoke in favor of the procurement.
Attorney Kent Snider "highly recommends doing this to prevent cases falling through the cracks," according to the minutes. Sheriff Eric Bailey said the equipment "brings our county up to par with the State and prevents things being overlooked." Commissioner Asay moved to approve the purchase and Commissioner Tippets seconded; the motion carried with Tippets and Asay voting yes and Commissioner Lytle absent.
