Commissioners approve sale of surplus sheriff vehicles and move the sheriff’s fleet into vendor program

Commissioners approved adding a Tahoe to the list of seized or surplus sheriff vehicles to be sold. The county received one consolidated bid from Gordon Curtis of Stilesville, IN, for $5,400 for all vehicles; the board approved accepting that bid unanimously.
Later in the meeting Sergeant Boller and 'Jake,' a representative from Enterprise, presented a fleet-management proposal for the sheriff's department. Commissioners voted unanimously to participate in the program. Jake said three vehicles financed last year through First National Bank could be transferred into the Enterprise program; County Attorney Jim Ensley will review the bank agreement before any transfer occurs.
