Putnam County demos mobile dashboard to report illegal dumping; staff plan public rollout

Commissioner Harvey and county IT staff demonstrated a mobile-accessible dashboard designed to let residents report illegal dumping by uploading a photo and pinning the location. The tool asks whether debris poses an immediate safety risk and routes reports to county public-works staff and, if necessary, law-enforcement contacts for urgent issues.
IT staff said the dashboard uses county address data, allows anonymous submissions, and will present a public-facing map so staff and volunteers can identify cleanup clusters and target contractor pickups. "It uses the county's address data... you drive, drag and drop an image... once that's done, it uploads the picture and I just got an email," the presenter explained. Commissioners welcomed the tool as a way to surface persistent hot spots and coordinate pickups more efficiently.
Why it matters: The dashboard is intended to reduce inefficiencies of responding to isolated reports by providing a map of problems, making weekly or coordinated cleanup runs possible and giving enforcement staff evidence to pursue repeat dumpers.
