Selectboard members and staff raised concerns July 13 about moving forward immediately with a conversion to BS&A accounting software while 2025 and 2026 bookkeeping remain unreconciled. Selectboard member Sue Collins and Treasurer Alicia Boire said the town is not current on reconciliations for those years and urged caution; Collins and Boire said they want additional research before proceeding.
Tim Stevens said BS&A acknowledged many towns face similar situations but the vendor recommended proceeding since the town has already made payments. The board voted to pause the conversion for now and directed staff to ask BMSI about extending its services for another year and to request BS&A pricing and timeline alternatives for a conversion possibly postponed to 2027. The board also discussed contacting an external advisor (suggested: Tammy Letson) for guidance on reconciliation and conversion timing.
