Board approves rezoning at 300 Pine Street to allow single-family redevelopment

Michael Graves, speaking for Planning and Development Services, presented rezoning case REZ 26-006 for 0.34 acres at 300 Pine Street in Palatka. "Donna Rose and Stephanie Wilmer are requesting a zoning map amendment from industrial light to residential 1A on 0.34 acres located at 300 Pine Street in Palatka to allow the redevelopment of a single-family residence," Graves said, noting staff and the Putnam County Planning Commission recommended approval.
A commissioner moved to approve the rezoning, the motion was seconded, and the chair called the vote. The board approved the map amendment on the public record. Staff noted the parcel is in FEMA flood zone X and that approval would allow the applicants to pursue building and site permits consistent with R1A zoning.
Why it matters: The rezoning removes industrial allowances on the parcel and makes it eligible for single-family redevelopment under the R1A standards, consistent with staff findings and the county comprehensive plan.
