Huachuca City council schedules April work session to study possible annexations

The Huachuca City Council on March 26 directed staff to study possible annexation of areas along Highway 90 north of town and in the 400–500 blocks of Lower Huachuca City, and scheduled a public work session for April 2, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. to examine costs and resident interest. Town Manager Suzanne Harvey presented the proposal and asked the Council whether it wished staff to analyze the costs of extending services, levels of owner interest and potential benefits to current residents.
"I wanted this back on the Agenda so we can get a work session scheduled and really get into it and see what we are looking at," Mayor Johann R. Wallace said. Councilmembers agreed to the April 2 work session schedule and postponed a previously planned CDBG work session to accommodate the annexation discussion. The work session will allow staff and council to collect estimates and resident feedback before any formal action is taken.
