The Huachuca City Council unanimously approved routine items on the consent agenda, including the minutes and the payment approval report, at its Feb. 26, 2026 meeting.
Town Manager Suzanne Harvey recommended a single change to the proposed budget adoption calendar: move the first budget work session from June 11 to June 18, 2026, because June 11 is a regular Council meeting. Council approved the adjusted calendar by motion (moved by Johann Wallace, seconded by Christy Hirshberg).
On equipment, Manager Harvey told the Council that when mechanics disassembled the Caterpillar D6 final drive they discovered both sides needed replacement. “Both sides need to be replaced so it is an additional $30,000, that is our D6. It's a critical piece of equipment. We also just paid it off, so we need to do the repair,” she said. Council approved the additional repairs in the amount of $30,235.63.
The meeting adjourned after routine reports and a motion to adjourn passed unanimously. The minutes were later certified by Mayor Johann R. Wallace and Town Clerk Brandye Thorpe on March 12, 2026.
