Board declines department head portfolios, approves re‑banding options for correctional nurse
Summary
The board voted 4–1 against developing department head portfolios and approved HRAC's recommended re‑banding options for the correctional nurse position (RN at C43; LPN at B23; LPN IVTH at B31).
At 9:30 A.M., Randi Schumaier, the county’s Human Resource Generalist, presented recommendations from the Human Resource Advisory Committee (HRAC).
The board considered whether to develop portfolios for department heads as recommended by HRAC. Commissioner Hollekim moved not to develop portfolios; Commissioner Jason Rice, Commissioner Joan Hollekim, Commissioner Wayne Olson and Commissioner John DeGroot voted yes, and Chair Trudy Ruland voted no. The motion carried 4–1.
The board also approved re‑banding options for the Correctional Nurse position. As recorded in the minutes, the options adopted were: Registered Nurse banded at C43; Licensed Practical Nurse banded at B23; and LPN IVTH banded at B31. The motions were approved by roll call vote.
