The Putnam County board voted to approve a tentative balanced budget presented by Deputy Administrator Young. The budget, as presented, incorporates changes requested at the July budget workshop and includes a 3% cost-of-living increase for board employees.
"It does, show a 3% cost of living increase for board employees as well as increased allocations to account for staff cost of living adjustments only for the constitutionals," Deputy Administrator Young said, noting the board could revisit constitutional appropriations after a November vote on tax reform. Young also told the board the revenue and expenditure summary indicates the county can achieve a balanced budget with current revenues and expenditures.
A committee member moved to approve the tentative balanced budget as presented; the motion was seconded and the chair called the vote. The motion carried.
