SBA official outlines disaster loans for Dec. 2025 storms, says mobile recovery vehicle will visit Stanwood

Mary Anne Bradfield, representing the U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Disaster Recovery, briefed the Stanwood City Council on SBA assistance available to people and businesses affected by the December 2025 storms.
Bradfield explained SBA offers low‑interest physical‑damage loans for homeowners and renters and economic injury disaster loans for small businesses and nonprofits that suffered revenue loss. She listed example rates and terms and said the SBA can defer payments and interest for 12 months after disbursement to give recipients time to recover. “There’s no fee to apply. No penalty for not taking it,” Bradfield said, encouraging affected residents and businesses to apply.
Bradfield also said the SBA is working with city staff to bring a new mobile recovery vehicle to Stanwood so residents can get in‑person help with applications and access customer-service representatives locally. She left informational materials with city staff and invited residents to contact the SBA for individual guidance.
Council members thanked Bradfield and asked staff to invite the SBA back for a fuller presentation if the council wants to pursue outreach collaboration.
