Parish reallocates library funds: Lacombe replacement and Slidell expansion receive multimillion‑dollar increases

Annie also said the parish will decrease a parish‑wide technology upgrade by $100,000 and transfer that amount to the Slidell project.
Councilman Laughlin asked whether library millage funds are restricted to library system use; Annie confirmed the dollars come from an ad valorem millage dedicated to the library system. A staff member asked Daniel Hill about design progress; the response reported both library projects' design phases are more than halfway complete and that the parish expects to go out for construction bids toward the end of the year.
