Contractor and Macon mayor criticizes Mexico’s bid decision at public comment

The bid shouldn't have been open if you weren't gonna accept my bid,” Holman said.
Holman said he has extensive demolition experience and supplied references; he said a prior issue that had involved his company was later dropped by the attorney general. He said he felt the city 'shunned' him and requested clarity from the council about why his bid was not accepted. Council members did not provide a detailed reply during the meeting; staff had previously cited prior-performance concerns when recommending award to the second-lowest bidder.
