Local library branch reports 200+ programs, invites public to summer reading and Juneteenth events

Mallie Brossett, branch commander at the Cassida–Chattahoochee Public Library since June 2025, told the commission the branch has hosted or participated in more than 200 programs and community events over the past year and averages about 800 visits per month.
She said the library circulates roughly 500 items monthly, helps residents with job applications and education resources, and partners frequently with Chattahoochee County Schools (more than 40 joint events over the past year). Brossett invited the public to join the summer reading program and to attend a Juneteenth "Food for the Soul" event on June 19 at 11 a.m., with food provided by Sweet Potato Heaven and family programming planned.
Brossett thanked her predecessor for building community partnerships and asked for continued commission support for library programming and outreach.
