The Mexico City Council on July 27 approved Bill 202645, authorizing the mayor to execute an agreement with the Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce for recommended funding from the city’s tourism tax.
Vicki Dinki, identified as the finance director, told the council the tourism commission recommended $5,000 for the Chamber’s advertising campaign and to cover a delayed subscription for the 'Eat, Shop, Play' app. “The amount requested was $5,000 and the tourism commission supported that request,” Dinki said.
Council members moved and seconded the bill and voted to pass the resolution. The payment is intended to support community tourism promotion coordinated by the Chamber.
