County Manager Thomas Weaver told the board the county’s contract relationship with the IGSA stray facility will end on May 9, 2026, because the facility could not meet the county’s required veterinary care and euthanasia standards.
Weaver told commissioners that the county had communicated its standards but the facility could not meet them; therefore the county will cease using that facility after May 9. No replacement provider or procurement decision was finalized at the March 3 meeting; Weaver said staff will continue to seek options and keep the commission apprised.
