The Clermont County Board of Commissioners voted Sept. 24 to accept the material terms of a settlement agreement with eight opioid manufacturer defendants and to authorize county officials to execute any forms or communications needed to participate in the settlement. Manufacturers named in the board action included Alvogen, Amneal, Apotex, Hikma, Indivior, Mylan, Sun, and Zydus and related entities; the authorization followed the board’s review of the settlement terms and was recorded in the minutes as an approved motion.
The motion directs county counsel and opioid litigation counsel to proceed with participation communications and any required documentation on behalf of Clermont County in the national litigation captioned In re National Prescription Opioid Litigation, Case No. 17-md-2804. The action was approved by unanimous roll call vote (Commissioners Batchler, Corcoran and Painter voting yes).
