Goshen Township asks county to dissolve golf-course TIF; commissioners approve limited release

Staff from the Department of Community and Economic Development reported that Goshen Township submitted a letter requesting dissolution of a twenty-year residential-improvement Tax Increment Financing (TIF) arrangement centered on State Route 28 and the Eagle's Nest Golf Course. The matter concerns a residential development and potential redevelopment associated with the golf-course property.
After discussion, the Board directed staff to pursue release of the TIF only for the golf course area while maintaining the TIF for the Sunnymeade Subdivision area. Development staff stated legal counsel had prepared a resolution and that the Clermont County Planning Commission and Goshen Township Zoning Commission will review the resolution and offer recommendations before the Board takes further action.
The Board’s direction restricts the release to a defined portion of the original TIF area rather than dissolving the entire TIF. Next steps include legal review, intergovernmental consultation, and formal consideration of the drafted resolution at future meetings.
