Clermont County authorizes $149,431 JAG subgrant for digital evidence and crime intelligence

The Clermont County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on Sept. 3, 2025, to authorize execution of a Subgrant Award Agreement for the 2025 Ohio Department of Public Safety/Office of Criminal Justice Services Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG). Commissioner Bonnie J. Batchler moved the approval, Commissioner Claire B. Corcoran seconded, and the motion passed with Commissioners Batchler, Corcoran and President David L. Painter voting Yes.
The grant totals $149,431.30, is 100% funded by OCJS with a 0% required local match, and covers the period 07/31/2025–06/30/2026. The minutes state the funds are for purchase of crime intelligence software, digital forensic software, salary reimbursement and related equipment to be implemented by the Clermont County Prosecuting Attorney. The board authorized President David L. Painter, or a designee, to sign the subgrant documents and accept terms of the award.
