Clermont County approves $1.126M subgrant to fund statewide child-protection training center
Summary
On Aug. 13, 2025 the board executed Subgrant Agreement G-2627-0156 with the Ohio Department of Children and Youth, authorizing up to $563,000 for SFY 2026 and up to $563,000 for SFY 2027 (total not to exceed $1,126,000) to fund statewide training at the Southwest Ohio Regional Training Center administered by Clermont County Job and Family Services.
The Board of County Commissioners added and executed Subgrant Agreement No. G-2627-0156 between the Clermont County Department of Job and Family Services (administrative entity for the Southwest Ohio Regional Training Center) and the Ohio Department of Children and Youth.
Under the agreement, the training center will receive up to $563,000 for State Fiscal Year 2026 and up to $563,000 for State Fiscal Year 2027, for a combined total not to exceed $1,126,000, effective July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2027. The funds are intended to provide required statewide training for county child-protection caseworkers, supervisors, assessors, foster/adoptive/kinship caregivers and IV-E courts.
Dorothy M. Meier, director of the Clermont County Department of Job and Family Services and administrative entity for the Southwest Ohio Regional Training Center, was authorized to execute the agreement. The board voted unanimously to approve the subgrant.
