North County Regional Fire introduces new assistant chief to Stanwood council

Chief Dave Kraske introduced Rick Jesus to the Stanwood City Council on June 25 as North County Regional Fire’s new assistant chief of operations. Kraske said the position had been vacant for about a year and described Jesus’s background in Marysville Fire District, promotion to battalion chief in 2017 and recent leadership training.
Kraske summarized Jesus’s education and career path and noted Jesus’s ongoing participation in executive leadership programs. “So I am happy to introduce you tonight to Rick Jesus,” Kraske said. Jesus told the council he was excited to join the department and described his responsibilities — overseeing day‑to‑day operations, deployment, training and readiness across multiple stations — and said he looks forward to bringing his experience to the district.
Councilmembers congratulated Jesus and asked a few operational questions; Jesus said his current station assignment will be Station 48 (Arlington Airport area) and described his focus on staffing, standard coverage and training.
