Public health reports vaccine activity, opioid response and CHA progress

Community Health Services Manager Barbara Salmela-Lind updated the board on several public-health items: there are no active or latent tuberculosis cases in the county, and staff administered 49 immunizations to 21 individuals in the previous month. She said staff are expanding the MN Responds volunteer program and recently engaged eight attendees at a Butterfield outreach event.
Salemela-Lind reported opioid allotment funding will support installation of an AED/Narcan mobile unit on the west side of City Hall in Butterfield. She said the Community Health Assessment (CHA) is nearly final and work will begin on the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP), which is due on December 31, 2026.
