The Redevelopment Agency of Taylorsville City Board adopted Resolution No. 25-03 on May 21, 2025, approving a final balanced budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025 and ending June 30, 2026. The board recorded a unanimous roll call vote in favor of the resolution.
Wayne Harper, the city’s Economic & Community Development Director, led the budget presentation and told the board the FY2026 budget differs only slightly from the tentative budget approved earlier; he identified about $3.5 million as revenue associated with Summit Park in the Bennion Point Economic Development Area (EDA). When Board Member Ernest Burgess asked whether those funds were restricted to Summit Park, Harper confirmed the revenues must be used in the project area.
Board Chair Meredith Harker opened a public hearing on the proposed budget; no members of the public offered comment. After discussion, Board Member Bob Knudsen moved to adopt Resolution No. 25-03; Board Member Ernest Burgess seconded. City Recorder Jamie Brooks performed a roll call vote: Burgess — yes; Barbieri — yes; Knudsen — yes; Cochran — yes; Harker — yes. The resolution passed unanimously.
The adopted budget covers the agency’s fiscal year from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. Agency staff recorded that the only substantive change from the tentative budget was the updated revenue projection tied to the Bennion Point EDA and Summit Park. The board did not record additional directions or referrals related to the appropriation during the meeting.
The board moved next to routine business; the meeting adjourned at approximately 6:18 p.m.
