During the June 16 negotiations the New Plymouth Education Association presented proposed language changes to the district's collective bargaining agreement. The minutes list proposed deletions (for example striking the text in 6.1.1 regarding committee membership and striking the appointment language in 2.7.9 for the Sick Leave Bank Committee) and additions of new sections 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, 4.7.1 and 4.7.5.
The union’s negotiation team formally presented these edits to Board representatives; the minutes record that the Board will review the proposed language and provide its responses after that review. The NPEA is expected to consult its membership on the Board’s current offer while the parties continue to exchange draft language.
No formal acceptances or votes on contract language were recorded at the meeting; the Board said it will get back to the NPEA with proposed language changes after its review.
