Local businesses and volunteers donate funds, books and CPR mannequins to Rockport schools

Superintendent Mark Branca reported several community donations that supported winter athletics, library materials and safety training.
Branca thanked Cape Ann Savings Bank for a $3,000 donation to the holiday basketball tournament and the Bank of Gloucester for a $4,816 donation to the holiday hockey tournament. He also said Sue and Brian Hardy donated the children's book "Ethan Goes to Recess" to the elementary library and that the Rockport Ambulance Association provided eight adult and four infant CPR mannequins for training.
"So a big thank you to all of these community members for their support of our programs," Branca said. Committee members noted the philanthropic contributions as an important local resource supporting extracurricular and safety programs.
