The Unified Government of Cusseta–Chattahoochee County released its 2025 Comprehensive Plan update, prepared with assistance from the River Valley Regional Commission, documenting population decline, infrastructure needs and a prioritized five‑year work program.
The plan notes an initial public hearing was held June 24, 2025, and schedules a final public hearing for Dec. 11, 2025. The plan states that it is intended to serve as “a policy guide relating to land use, community infrastructure, housing, and economic development activities,” and sets a schedule for adoption and submission to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.
The plan was prepared and assisted by the River Valley Regional Commission and lists the Board of Commissioners (Chair Charles Coffey and commissioners Timothy Biddle, Gerald Douglas, Damon Hoyte and Jason Frost) and county staff including County Manager Thomas Weaver and County Clerk Lisa Bickel.
