City clerk Bessie Jo Wagner reviewed the council’s upcoming meeting schedule and public hearings: on Aug. 13 the council will hold three public hearings (including airport rates and community and economic development fee increases), conduct a budget‑foregone hearing and consider adoption of the FY27 budget; a water‑rate public hearing is scheduled Aug. 27. Wagner said the city may cancel its Aug. 20 meeting if the Aug. 13 hearings conclude the items.
Wagner also advised the council that a budget amendment for a land purchase and adjustments tied to increased local option tax receipts will be forthcoming. She said the city is projecting higher receipts and will bring an amendment if necessary.
Later in the meeting the council moved to enter executive session pursuant to Idaho Code §74‑206(1)(a) and (b) to consider hiring and to consider evaluation or complaints regarding public employees. A roll call vote approved entering executive session.
No substantive policy decisions were made in open session on these items; the public hearings and the executive session were scheduled as part of the council’s normal agenda process.
