Chisago County to host AIS workshop April 16; Children's Water Festival set for Sept. 17

Madelyn Kinny told the Team that a public Aquatic Invasive Species workshop will be hosted at the Government Center on Thursday, April 16 from 8:00 a.m. to noon, with presenters from the Minnesota DNR, the Minnesota Aquatic Invasive Species Research Center (MAISRC), and the Lower St. Croix Watershed Education Partnership. The session will cover zebra mussel management and member retention strategies for lake associations.
Kinny also shared two promotional videos from the 2025 Children's Water Festival and confirmed the 2026 festival will take place on September 17 at Wild Mountain. She added that a scheduled 'Waters of Chisago County' presentation for March 10 in North Branch was cancelled.
Organizers and lake associations were asked to help publicize the workshop and festival; the AIS workshop is intended for lake association members and the public to learn about prevention and response strategies.
