Chisago County awards $88,118 to lake associations for aquatic invasive‑species treatment and approves groundwater study application

The Chisago County Board accepted the 2025 Water Resources Annual Report and, by approving Resolution No. 26/0318-2, awarded 2026 Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Treatment and Education grants to six lake associations totaling $88,118: Comfort Lake ($1,211), Goose Lake ($4,928), Green Lakes ($22,490), Center Lakes ($19,569), Chisago Lindstrom Kroon Lakes ($18,199) and Rush Lake ($21,721). The board authorized county water resources staff to enter into and administer the grant agreements.
The board also approved a Delegation Agreement with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to permit county inspection of water‑related equipment and authorized the 2026 AIS program to proceed as budgeted. Separately, the board approved applying to the Accelerated Implementation Grant to develop a groundwater report and pledged $10,000 from budgeted Water Plan funds plus in‑kind staff time in support of that application. Those motions were recorded as carried unanimously.
