Board preliminarily advertises 2025 budget and seeks to hire a public accountant for the 2024 audit

At its Nov. 20 meeting the Salem Township Board of Supervisors voted to preliminarily approve and advertise the township’s 2025 Proposed Budget; the board set final approval for the Dec. 18, 2024 public meeting at 7:00 p.m.
Separately, supervisors authorized advertising for quotes to appoint a certified public accountant or firm to replace the elected auditors and conduct the township’s 2024 fiscal year audit. Quotes will be solicited prior to Dec. 9, 2024, and the board plans to make an appointment at the Reorganization Meeting on Jan. 6, 2025. Both motions passed unanimously.
The expenditure and budgeting approvals at the meeting also showed the board’s monthly expenditures totaled $120,116.81 across multiple funds, a figure the board approved earlier in the session.
