Council approves business license for Hooked Fish and Chips

The Huntsville Town Council voted July 17 to approve a business license for Hooked Fish and Chips, contingent on the owners securing the necessary health-department permit. Jarrod and Mandy Morris told the Council they expect to open the restaurant in a few weeks and described the menu as centered on fish and chips with additional items.
"We will be serving fish and chips, but also hamburgers, ice cream and dirty sodas," the applicants said, and indicated they were completing health-department paperwork. The Council agreed the town license should be contingent on the health permit before the business opens to the public. TCM Bruce Ahlstrom moved to approve the license; TCM Artie Powell seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.
The approval includes the usual town conditions for food-service businesses and was recorded in the meeting minutes. The Morris family did not ask for a town subsidy; the Council emphasized the license will not be final until the health department issues its permit.
