Shenandoah County supervisors on Feb. 10 authorized the County Administrator to issue a Notice of Award and execute a contract with Perry Engineering Company, Inc., for the Landfill Citizens' Convenience Center and facility upgrades in the amount of $7,494,303.
County Administrator Evan Vass told the board the award follows a competitive bidding process and legal review. Deputy County Administrator Mandy Belyea thanked project staff and contractor liaisons; Mr. Andy Hounshell was singled out for his work on the project. Vice Chairman Dennis Morris moved to authorize the award; Supervisor Steve Baker seconded. The motion passed by roll call vote with all supervisors voting 'aye.'
The authorization allows the administrator, with County Attorney review, to finalize contract terms and execute the agreement for the modified scope presented by staff. The record notes the project is a priority for citizens who have expressed interest in landfill upgrades in prior meetings.
