Salem Township board approves grant application seeking $78,690 for Seanor Park equipment

At a special meeting Sept. 24, the Salem Township Board of Supervisors approved Resolution 26-2024 to apply for a Category 4 Facilities Local Share Assessment grant through the Commonwealth Funding Agency to fund the Seanor Park Maintenance Equipment Project.
The motion, made by Ken Trumbetta and seconded by Kerry Jobe, authorizes submission of the grant application, designates an agent to act on the township's behalf, and approves execution and submission of required pro forma documents. Supervisors reviewed vendor quotes for two shed sizes (a 24x28 and a 40x40) and two mower options; the board chose the larger 40x40 shed and the larger mower and decided to request $78,690.28. The meeting minutes note that if the township receives a lesser award the balance would need to be covered from Act 13 funds or other township sources.
The vote was unanimous: Bob Zundel, Ken (Kenneth) Trumbetta and Kerry Jobe voted in favor. The approved resolution and the grant application move the township to the next step of seeking state funding for park maintenance equipment.
