Tintic board approves bleachers, roofing and kitchen remodels, Trustland amendment; school fees tabled

The Tintic School District Board of Education approved several capital expenditures and a Trustland Plan amendment during its March 16, 2026 meeting in Eureka. President Jeana Rowley called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m., and the Board voted unanimously on multiple motions that were moved and seconded from the floor.

Member Lyndsay Garbett moved to approve the Eureka High bleachers bid from Norcon, with Member Jessica Nielsen seconding; the Board approved the bid unanimously. The Board also approved a bid from R1 Roofing for the Eureka Elementary School roof (moved by Ryan Despain, seconded by Lyndsay Garbett) and a bid from Jim Coon Construction for the West Desert kitchen remodel (moved by Jessica Nielsen, seconded by Ryan Despain); Superintendent Greg Thornock noted the kitchen remodel bid was reworked and arrived at a lower cost. The Eureka Elementary School Trustland Plan Amendment was approved (moved by Lyndsay Garbett, seconded by Ryan Despain) after Superintendent Thornock confirmed with Principal Kramer that the proposed art curriculum aligns with core science standards. "Motion carried with all members present voting unanimously," according to the meeting record.

The Board approved the Consent Agenda (motion by Ryan Despain, second by Jessica Nielsen) and tabled consideration of 2026–2027 school fees until the April 20, 2026 meeting.
