Salem Township approves $123,005.08 in monthly expenditures and payroll

The Salem Township Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Aug. 21 to approve the township's monthly expenditures and payroll, totaling $123,005.08.
The vote authorized payments from the General Fund ($42,223.82), Payroll Fund ($46,790.93), Liquid Fuels ($10,893.32), Street Lights ($394.86), Machinery ($1,141.48), Park Initiative ($1,978.00) and Sewer Revenue ($19,582.67). Supervisors Bob Zundel, Ken Trumbetta and Kerry Jobe recorded the unanimous vote.
During the same agenda item, resident and Forbes Road volunteer firefighter Adam Bayura asked whether a streetlight could be installed to illuminate the fire department parking lot. Supervisors said First Energy has the installation on its schedule.
The board also approved ministerial personnel and benefits items elsewhere on the agenda; for example, it later renewed the PrimePay agreement for the township employees' HRA account, which is set to renew Nov. 1, 2024 at a monthly rate of $69.96.
