Emergency manager outlines new water fountain, town hall and electronic recycling plans

Emergency Manager Roger Powell reported several operational items at the July 28 Furnas County meeting. Powell said the county is considering purchase of a new water fountain for the courthouse first floor, and he announced a Comprehensive Plan town hall meeting scheduled for August 19, 2026 at the Ella Missing Center in Arapahoe.
Powell also told the board the county will hold an electronic recycling event on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at the County Roads Department in Arapahoe and stated that 2025 EMPG (Emergency Management Performance Grant) funds should be forthcoming. Those items were received and placed on file by the board.
