MADD specialist presents programs and honors patrolman at Sparta council meeting

Pedro Medina, a program specialist for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) — Northern New Jersey, briefed the council on MADD’s school‑based presentations for fourth graders through high school, a parent presentation, and a prom safety program that includes impairment goggles. Medina said victim services accompany families to court and provide resources free of charge and provided a hotline number for immediate assistance.
As part of the presentation Medina recognized Patrolman Paul Wentzl with a Certificate of Excellence for “outstanding dedication and commitment to keeping our roads and communities safe.” Patrolman Wentzl thanked MADD and council members. Medina invited school boards to schedule MADD presentations and left program materials for township staff to distribute.
