Agora backers say pickleball complex will bring jobs and pledge to mitigate noise

John Lyle, speaking for Agora, said the developer chose Grandview to bring jobs, businesses and community space and emphasized the proposal includes multiple uses beyond courts. "We chose Grandview for a reason, and that's we wanna be a part of this community," Lyle said.
Ahmed Shalabi, the proposed owner-operator, described acoustic modeling and his own field measurements. "It was at 54.7 decibels... we maxed out at 81 decibels" in an on-site run of decibel readings, he said, and added that panels and other mitigation steps would be part of the plan. Shalabi said he cannot eliminate sound entirely but pledged discounts and partnership opportunities with the melodrama and described plans for gates, lights on timers and removable nets to limit hours and access during non-event periods.
