Commission adopts transmittal for 2050 future land use map updates

The commission approved transmittal of Ordinance O‑26‑17, the companion ordinance to the comprehensive plan update that adopts the 2050 future land use map series. Staff said the map updates account for annexations that had already been applied with Winter Haven future land use designations and that the Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval at its July 9 meeting.
Eric Lavey presented the item and recommended transmittal to the state; the motion to transmit carried by voice vote. Staff noted that second reading and final adoption dates would be determined following state review.
