Fifer Creek restoration moves toward construction after grants and permitting; volunteers raised more than $200,000

Leone said volunteers raised $205,000 and the chapter will contribute $135,000 toward a $340,000 project that aims to naturalize two streams and create a more accessible kids' fishing area. "The total project cost has been $340,000.00 and as volunteers writing grants, we've raised $205,000.00 on our own, and then the George Grant Chapter over four years is putting in the other $135,000.00," Leone said. Project mobilization was anticipated in March pending final agreement review by County Attorney Morgan Smith and coordination with county road crews for equipment access.
