Supervisors authorize special meeting to hire road crew and plan SALDO public input

On Oct. 16 the board authorized advertising a special meeting to hire for a Road Crew position and to proceed with applications to the Statewide Local Share Account (LSA) for grant funding. The motion to advertise and pursue grant applications was approved unanimously.
Separately, under new business the board discussed the status of proposed SALDO (Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance) revisions and said it would schedule a Planning Commission public meeting to gather public input on proposed changes — including language to allow assessment of consultant fees consistent with the Municipalities Planning Code and clarifications dividing minor and major subdivisions and side-lot additions. A resident inquired about the SALDO timeline; the township solicitor said a public meeting with the Planning Commission is being scheduled.
The board also heard a brief update on manhole elevation concerns raised by a resident, who said planned manholes that once were to be placed below grade are now expected to be at or slightly above grade; the resident asked the Board to approach Delmont borough for support.
