Residents urge action on noise, traffic and air concerns at nearby cement and excavation sites

During the Oct. 16 meeting resident Lisa Segina presented a petition signed by 28 residents (names withheld) asking the Supervisors to enforce developer and land-use requirements after neighbors reported industrial activity encroaching into residential areas.
The petition and accompanying correspondence cited safety concerns from heavy truck traffic on Route 819, nighttime machinery noise, and air-pollution impacts. The board entered into the minutes an email from residents Gary and Linda Helman that described their experience on Sidehamer Lane: "As these plants continue to expand, they are creating noise and air pollution at levels that are unacceptable to the families living around them," the Helmans wrote, and they asked supervisors to act to preserve the township as a "rural, beautiful, and safe place to live."
Solicitor Atty. Falatovich told the assembled residents that the township has been working to bring Daniels through the Planning Process and that as-built plans are expected; the deadline for submission was stated as Dec. 31, 2024. The board did not announce additional enforcement action at the Oct. 16 meeting but recorded the petition and the Helmans' correspondence in the public record.
