Commission told hospital construction could add 70–150 cars and strain downtown parking

Planning staff warned the commission that multiple large projects concentrated in a small area are likely to increase demand for parking and local infrastructure. A staff member reported a subcontractor estimate that the hospital project alone could generate "between 70 to a 150 cars next summer," and commissioners noted competing demand for street and off-street parking among projects.

Commissioners and staff said coordination among project managers and contractors has begun, and staff described monthly coordination meetings intended to manage staging and impacts. Staff also noted erosion-control measures are in place for a behavioral health building site and that CBH received permits recently for a housing project near commercial property.
