City of Sawyer schedules NRP discussion; neighboring towns noncommittal, county told

During the economic development update, Heather Morgan told the commission that the City of Sawyer requested her attendance at a special called meeting to discuss participation in a Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP). She said she plans to attend virtually via Zoom to represent county interests.
Morgan said she and County Counselor Tyson Eisenhauer have contacted the Airport Authority and reached out to the towns of Iuka and Byers but had not received replies. She also relayed that the Preston mayor indicated Preston is not interested in participating in the program. The commission did not make a decision at the meeting about county-level participation in the NRP.
