The board approved multiple proclamations on April 16, including a proclamation recognizing Kaleb Young's attainment of the Eagle Scout rank (Resolution #2026-143), National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (Resolution #2026-144), Library Week (Resolution #2026-145) and National Small Business Week (Resolution #2026-146). The board also accepted a $35,707.50 award from the Firehouse Public Safety Foundation (Resolution #2026-162) to purchase a Polaris Ranger for the Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Callahan said the office has used its current side-by-side at parades and events and that the new vehicle will serve similar functions. Commissioners recorded unanimous votes on the proclamations and the grant acceptance.
