Winhall readies French Hollow, Access Road culvert work; salt and sand to be bid

Trevor Dryden, Highway Foreman, told the Selectboard that the French Hollow culvert project still requires several state permits, including a stream-alteration approval, needs updated signage, a performance bond and a contract with a contractor identified as Hunter despite an Army Corps of Engineers permit already in place. Dryden said the Access Road culvert project is scheduled to start on Sept. 2, pending remaining state permit requirements and signage.
Dryden also reported that roadside mowing is underway, that the town will need to put salt and sand contracts out to bid for the coming season, and that the South Road project remains on hold while final permitting is obtained. No contract awards or bid amounts were given at the meeting.
