The Stevenson-Carson School District will participate in a construction and welding apprenticeship/internship pilot, Superintendent Ingrid Colvard told the board on Sept. 26. Colvard said the district could receive up to $150,000 in equipment to support the program, and that the equipment would remain with the district even if the pilot does not continue.
Board members heard that the pilot would create hands-on pathways for students; administrative staff will work through the particulars of implementing internships or apprenticeships with partners and report back to the board as the program develops.
