Board appoints Mark Chambers to fill Stevenson-Carson District 4 seat

The Stevenson-Carson School District Board of Directors voted to appoint Mark Chambers as the District 4 director after interviewing him and holding a brief executive session. Lisa Birney moved to appoint Chambers and Mitch Engel seconded; the board then took a roll-call vote in which Mitch Engel, Jeff Wickersham, Lisa Birney and Jon Paul Anderson voted "aye." Superintendent Ingrid Colvard swore in Chambers following the vote.
Chambers told the board he grew up in Carson and graduated from SHS in 2004 and said he is "hardworking" and intends to run for the permanent seat in the next election. During his interview he said he is concerned that students in the district are not being adequately served and that District 4 lacks representation while the seat is vacant.
